RSS stands for Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication, and it’s an easy way to keep up with the blogs and news you’re interested in—all in one place!
All you need to do is set up an RSS feed reader. There are many free ones to choose from. Google Reader is a simple one that works for Macs and Windows computers. Just go to www.google.com/reader and sign into your gmail account. If you don’t have one, you can easily create one for free. Then click subscribe and type in the URL you’re interested in.
Or, if you’re at a site that has the RSS icon
, click on that and it will take you to their RSS feed. At the top of the feed there’s a “subscribe now” button. But first you have to indicate where the feed should be sent to. In this case, you’ll choose “google,” which will take you to a page that offers two choices for where to add the feed: your google home page or your google reader. You should click on google reader.
Now, every time you log in to www.google.com/reader you’ll have easy access to all the blogs and news you’re interested in.
