My approach to the digital world

As I mentioned in my initial post, I’ve dabbled in HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver and WordPress. But whatever endeavor I have taken on in the past, I always ended up quitting because there is so much to learn and it’s always changing.

This time I feel different. Where before I thought social media was so huge (how could anyone ever find me?), I now have a better understanding of community networking. And for the first time, I want to be part of it.

The other thing I’ve come to realize is that the world is evolving quickly in all areas, not just with computers and the internet, so anyone can become obsolete. The only solution is to continually educate oneself.

With that in mind, I have a vision for how I’m going to follow my digital journey. And there will certainly be lots of detours. For instance, right now I am focusing on WordPress.com. But tonight I am attending an event called Productivity Apps to Streamline Your Business.

  1. I’ve noticed that the “follow” button isn’t allowing me to receive new posts by email. In Firefox it comes through a WordPress reader and when I try in Safari it tells me that my email address is invalid. I’m not sure why this is happening, but someone suggested that I reply to one of my own posts and then click on “Notify me of new posts via email,” so that’s what I’m doing. Hopefully other people are able to follow me by just clicking the follow button.
